In November it’s a mild 13-14°C. The weather in Puglia in November can be wet – in fact, it is the wettest month on the southeastern tip of Italy. It still means less than 100mm of rain and a 50/50 chance of a sunny day. Winters are far less severe than in northern Europe – and one of the joys of travelling here, of course, is watching the landscape change through the seasons.
There are plenty of reasons to head to the heel of Italy apart from the mild weather in Puglia in November. The feast of San Martino is celebrated on 11 November. Focused around food, the first fresh citrus fruits of the year are now ripe along with the season’s first roast chestnuts and the first of the new young wines or Vino Novello.
