The beautiful seventeenth-century Courtyard, is the center stage of the mansion, and can receive up to 90 seated guests. It reveals itself as the heart of the castello, and its walls will wrap you in a cozy and festive feeling for the dinner or for a cake cutting. The dining halls just adjacent to the courtyard, where the 900 year old Norman tower was uncovered in 2015, is a perfect area nicely air conditioned and visible through imposing glass doors and floors.
The 18th century Kitchen Garden, a marvel of fruit trees, flowers and aromatic herbs offers 1,500 m2 of space with lovely views of the castle and of the Piano Nobile adorned with frescoed ceilings. It is organized around a central arbor shaped like a cross, and is the ideal setting for a welcome aperitivo, an exchange of vows or religious rite, or an open bar accompanied by music. The enchantment in this “giardino secreto” is quite spectacular.

The large “Sala delle feste” or ballroom, is situated in the castle’s most ancient tower. Once the Armory in Norman times, it is the ideal place for the evening festivities where you will dance the night away as long as you wish. The ancient stables lead the way to the Ballroom and are a perfect setting for an open bar and in the sala delle feste you may make use of a large screen Smart TV, offering the possibility of projecting any media you wish.
You may also choose to host your castle wedding celebrations under the frescoed ceilings of the museum wing on the Piano Nobile. These stunning rooms, with vaulted ceilings painted al fresco in the late 1600s, were originally the living quarters of the d’Amore family. The imposing size and historical decor will enchant you and your guests as you stroll from one fresco to another uncovering the stories the noble family wished to tell. And why not treat yourselves as newlyweds to a private candlelit dinner under the fresco of the Salone dei Putti, surrounded by music and flowers after your guests leave… this will be the true beginning of your honeymoon and the d’Amore cherubs will be your sole company.

Situated only 5 minutes from Castello, Masseria le Mandorle lends itself perfectly to host a most Salentino welcome dinner with Pugliese dancers interpreting the traditional folkloristic movements of La Pizzica. Come and enjoy other moments with friends by the pool during the days leading to the wedding or after. Le Mandorle is one of the preferred wedding masserie in Italy due to its fine authentic touch, Culinary excellence and proximity to Castello di Ugento. The restaurant at Masseria is in fact under the direction of Castello’s Chef Tommaso Sanguedolce, and it is ideal to mix evenings on both properties so as to truly enjoy all the richness of Pugliese cuisine.
