A restoration and a resurrected castle. A visionary project has given Castello di Ugento, home to the d'Amore family for four centuries, a new lease of life. Now a vibrant cultural hub for Salento, inside one wing is a museum and contemporary art exhibition space, in another a sleek design hotel, in the storehouses a world-class culinary school.
Frescoes. Art. Gastronomy. History.
Food is at the centre of the reinvention. From the restored 18th-century kitchen garden to private dining in the excavated foundations of a Norman Tower and a state-of-the-art cookery school. The Puglia Culinary Centre is much more than an Italian cookery school. The transformed storehouses attract international students and focus on the eno-gastronomy of Puglia and Italy.
From July 2017 you can stay in nine contemporary luxury suites within the ancient walls. Diana and Massimo look forward to welcoming you and sharing the story of the castello's re-awakening and its transformation into a vibrant cultural destination in Puglia.
The new in the old lies concealed, the old in the new is revealed.
